The rainy forecast isn't stopping people with plans to give thanks in the great outdoors.
Record flooding shut down Grapevine's Vineyard Campground in May and the water didn't recede until mid-August.
On Tuesday, the gates were reopened.
"One way or the other, we're having our Thanksgiving here," said Steve Garrish.
The Garrishes are native Texans, but now live in Colorado. Their annual Thanksgiving at the campsite almost didn't happen when floodwaters closed the site for six months.
"It's been a long wait to get back here, but it looks great," said camper Marcos Espinoza.
The Espinozas live in Fort Worth and have better options if the weather becomes a problem. On Wednesday conditions were cloudy, windy and dry. The forecast calls for rain through Thanksgiving weekend.

"We're not as committed. A lot of people are from out of town," said Espinoza. "We're close. We live 20 minutes from here."
Vineyard Campground is booked through the holiday weekend.
