Puppy Tossed to Curb Looking for New Home

The Fort Worth Animal Shelter is looking for a family to adopt a puppy that someone tossed to the curb this week.

The shelter says someone drove by their facility, dropped Lilly onto the grass and left.

"At least they dumped her here," said Jay Sabatucci, Fort Worth Animal Care and Control Division Superintendent.

A worker found her sitting close to traffic and took her inside. Caregivers say the three-month-old terrier-mix wasn't hurt during the fall and is very healthy.

"She's a little afraid right now because it's like being abducted by aliens," said Sabatucci.

Veterinarians spayed and micro-chipped Lilly. They also updated her vaccinations.

The shelter says she will be ready for adoption on Friday at noon.
