Protesters took a stand along side a Tarrant County family on Sunday. They want John Peter Smith hospital in Fort Worth to take a pregnant woman off life support.
Marlise Munoz has been on life support since her husband, Erick Munoz, found his wife unconscious on Nov. 26, 2013.
Munoz was 14 weeks pregnant at the time. Her husband, a Crowley firefighter, and Marlise's parents, argue that the now 20-week pregnant woman would not want to be kept alive this way.
The nine protesters outside JPS Hospital Sunday told NBC DFW that they did not know the Munoz family but they wanted to show their support.
Demonstrators said the decision shouldn't be up to the hospital.
"Basically we just want it to be known that the practice of this state law is unethical," said demonstrator Autumn Bracken. "It's a violation of Marlise's rights as a human being and as a woman. It's going against her family's wishes. And we basically we want the state to stop telling us what to do with our bodies and respect the wishes."
"It touched me, being a woman, being a mother, being a spouse to someone who might have to make this decision for me one day and them not being able to because of some absurd law," said protester Afton Brown.

The hospital said according to Texas law, since Marlie is now 20-weeks pregnant, they cannot remove her from life support.
Last week, JPS Hospital spokeswoman J.R. Labbe said the hospital believes the law is clear.
"We are following the law of the state of Texas," Labbe said. "This is not a difficult decision for us. We are following the law."
