‘Prairie Lights' Holiday Display Opens to the Public

Workers began setting up the display in September

The Grand Prairie "Prairie Lights" at Lynn Creek Park is ready to brighten the holiday season for North Texas families.

Crews spent more than two months setting up all four million lights, but the display was temporarily closed after several inches of rain fell over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Now, families can drive through the park set along a two-mile lit path.

The display features holiday characters and landmarks from around the country, like the Statue of Liberty.

There is also the indoor Holiday Village where Santa will be taking Christmas present requests.

"Prairie Lights" opens on Thanksgiving Day and runs through Jan. 3.

Admission is $20 Monday through Thursday and $35 Friday through Sunday and on holidays.

The admission money is used to pay for next year's display.

More than 100,000 people visit the light display each year.

There are a few sneak peek events at the park starting this weekend.
