Police Say Child Kidnapped After Mom Stabbed

4-year-old found; Amber Alert canceled

Police said a 4-year-old girl who was abducted after her pregnant mother was stabbed in the parking lot of a Dallas apartment complex was found Wednesday night.

Police said the woman was putting her child in the back of a car in a parking lot near Audelia Road and Forest Lane when she found Tinoco Cipriano, a former boyfriend, hiding in the backseat of the vehicle.

The two began fighting inside the red Toyota, and the woman was cut on her upper shoulder, police said.

When she jumped out of the vehicle to get away from him, Cipriano, 26, jumped into the driver seat of the car and fled with 4-year-old Yameli Nava still inside, investigators said.

Cipriano is not the child's father, police said.

Officers spotted Cipriano and the child at about 8 p.m.

Police said doctors would examine Yameli at a local hospital as a precaution.

Cipriano was being checked out by paramedics and will be taken to jail, police said.

Investigators said he was also wanted on suspicion of assaulting Yameli's mother two weeks ago.
