Investigators locate accused shooter in Mesquite

A man wanted for shooting the mother of his child was arrested overnight in Carrollton.

Carrollton police arrsted Ladarrius Devon Davis, 33, of Dallas, shortly after midnight Friday in Mesquite following an extensive investigation.

Davis is currently being held in the Carrollton Municipal Jail and is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/family violence, a 1st-degree felony.
 
Investigators said that just before 4 p.m. Thursday, the victim called 911 and reported that she had been shot multiple times by her ex, the father of her child, whom she identified as Davis.

The woman had been working alone at Clinical Pathology Laboratory, on the 3700 block of North Josey Lane in Carrollton, when she said Davis entered the lab and started shooting.

Paramedics arrived and discovered the victim had been shot in her head and neck and transported her to Parkland Hospital in Dallas where she is recovering.
 
Police said Davis also had a warrant out for his arrest in Fort Worth for burglary.  Davis is expected to go before a judge Friday morning.
