Police Search for Suspects in ‘Scary' Attacks

Fort Worth police continue to look for two armed suspects who aggressively robbed one woman at a red light and shot another at a stop sign.

The attacks happened last week in southeast Fort Worth and nearby Forest Hill. Tarrant County College's South Campus sits right between the two attacks.

While many students were unaware of what happened, those who had learned of the attacks were concerned since they live and travel through the area regularly.

"I live just 10 minutes away from here and to know that could happen to me is kind of scary," said Michael McKey.

"That’s kind of scary because I go to school around here and you don’t want that kind of stuff around when you’re trying to learn," said Joseph Hernandez.

"It just makes me want to be extremely cautious about my surroundings and be extra vigilant and careful," said Candace Wright.

On Wednesday Fort Worth police released surveillance video of the first attack, where a woman was robbed and briefly held against her will at the barrel end of a shotgun. The hope is someone will recognize the two suspects and their vehicle. Investigators also wanted to alert people in the area to be mindful of their surroundings.

That first attack happened January 27, three days later it's believed the same two suspects shot a woman at an intersection in Forest Hill. The woman was able to flee despite being shot in the foot, the suspects did not steal anything or make any demands before the shot was fired.

"It is a scary world we live in, it is," Wright said. "You just have to go about it (your life), you can’t worry, you just pray and go on."

Meantime, police in Fort Worth and Forest Hill hopes someone comes forward so they can get the suspects off the street.
