Police Search for Suspect in 3 Church Burglaries

Police in Dallas and Red Oak are looking for the same suspect who burglarized at least three Baptist churches over three days in late April.

Security video from the First Baptist Church of Red Oak, located in the 300 block of E. Ovilla Road, showed a man stealing a weed eater from a storage shed on April 26. He then loaded it into a white Dodge van.

Authorities said the same white van was seen parked the Eastridge Baptist Church in Red Oak the day before, April 25, when someone also stole tools and lawn equipment from a storage garage. Eastridge Baptist Church is in the 700 block of E. Ovilla Road, just over one mile east from First Baptist Church.

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a similar break-in at the Burning Bush Baptist Church, located at 4943 Bonnie View Road. That incident was reported on Sunday, April 27.

In that break-in, security video again shows a white van parked next to a storage building where someone stole tools.

The vehicle appears to be a recent model Dodge Ram van and is used as a fleet vehicle. The van has been identified as having windows down the length of the passenger side, but none along the driver side, officials said.
