Police Round Up Wild Birds Near Dallas Zoo

Dallas police and Animal Control officers spent Saturday evening rounding up dozens of wild birds.

Officers were called to the 300 block of Iowa Avenue on reports of several exotic birds roaming the neighborhood.

NBC 5 cameras caught video of a peacock on the roof of a home. Also, we saw a wild turkey and several guinea fowl roaming the streets.

Although the Dallas Zoo is just north of this location, police and zoo officials said the birds did not escape from the zoo.

Dallas police said officers located the owner in the 1800 block of East Lakeview Drive. It's not clear if they will face charges.
