Police: Man Shot in Jaw During Attempted Robbery

Police are searching for a person they say shot a man near a fire station in Dallas Wednesday night.

Dallas police said they found the victim behind the fire station on the 2800 block of Wilhurt Avenue at about 10 p.m.

After investigating, officers learned that the shooter approached the victim and demanded his property. Police said the victim tried to run, but the shooter fired and shot him in the jaw.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. His condition is not known.

Police have not yet released a description of the shooter and they have not said if any of the victim's property was stolen.
