Police Investigating 2 Armed Robberies in Benbrook and Grandview

Police are asking the public to help identify a suspect they believe was involved in two armed robberies on Sunday.

Police say a man with a gun robbed the Everest Food Mart at 8000 Chapin Road in Benbrook at about 2:45 p.m. When the man entered the store, he had a handgun and demanded money, police say. Then, the man ran away from the store and stole a car at gunpoint.

At about 6:55 p.m., police responded to another armed robbery at The Spring Market at 416 N. 3rd Street in Grandview. Police say they believe the same suspect was involved in this robbery. The suspect left the scene in a brown and tan 2016 Hyundai Tucson with Texas license plate number HXD5498.

No injuries were reported in either robbery.

Police described the man as thin and white. They said he had a tattoo on the right side of his face and tattoos on his right arm.

Police say if you see the suspect or the stolen car, you should call 911 and not approach the person.
