A man arrested in connection with a hidden camera investigation planted cameras in several locations, police say.
Detectives with the Grapevine Police Department arrested 64-year-old Andrew Crawford Boden on Monday after a video camera was found hidden on a wall at a Braum's restaurant in Grapevine last week.
An employee at the restaurant found the camera, which is a self-contained unit that looks like an electric outlet but is really a video recorder that can be purchased online or at retail stores in North Texas.
Authorities were able to identify Boden after a forensic examination of the camera revealed it contained two photographs of the man suspected of planting it in the wall.
Boden, who was found to be living at the Candlewood Suites on Green Park Drive, was arrested and charged with improper photography or video recording Monday afternoon and transported to the Grapevine jail. After about an hour, he posted $2,000 bond and was released.
After his arrest Boden admitted to placing the hidden camera in the ladies room at Braum's and told police that he had placed cameras in several other locations, according to a search warrant affidavit released by investigators Tuesday.
Both the Grapevine and Irving police said Tuesday afternoon that more cameras may be found in Irving, where Boden both lived and worked, but at this time they have not revealed specific locations.
Meanwhile, other business owners in Grapevine began checking their public restrooms for hidden cameras.
"We immediately went and checked our restrooms, said Weinberger's Deli owner, Dan Weinberger. "In fact, not just the restrooms, we scanned the place because we just want to make sure everybody is safe."
The investigation into the case is ongoing.
