Arlington police say a teenager is in custody after two Arlington Independent School District campuses received threats posted online Tuesday.
Police said they arrested 17-year-old Shalaria Jones Wednesday evening in connection to the threats. Jones is being held on a $10,000 bond at Tarrant County Jail.
On Wednesday, police said they had two people of interest concerning the threats, including students at Bowie and Sam Houston high schools. Both schools received threats that there was going to be a shooting on the property.
Jones is a student at Bowie High School.
One threat on Twitter said, ‘At 12 be ready for Bowie to have a school shooting.'
“We've identified one telephone that was used. We are in the process of interviewing two teens associated with that and that related to Bowie,” said Lt. Christopher Cook, with the Arlington Police Department.
It appears the threat was not credible and the social media accounts were created the day before the posted threats.
But on the same day, Sam Houston, DeSoto and Cedar Hill high schools all had similar threats. All appeared to be hoaxes as well. Still, police have now put extra patrols officers around the school for the rest of the week.
“I left yesterday because I didn't want to get shot potentially,” said Bowie senior Mathew Nobriga.

“It’s very disruptive because no one is focusing on school, everyone is basically on Twitter all day,” said Jade Smith, a senior at Bowie.
Investigators are not sure if the threats are connected or if they are just copycats.
