Police dogs tracked the man down and he was arrested

A police chase in Grand Prairie ends with an arrest Friday morning.

Officers tried to pull over a vehicle near state Highway 161 at Forum at about 3 a.m. The vehicle initially pulled over, but as an officer approached the car, the driver sped off, according to authorities.

The driver drove to state Highway 360, where he pulled into a gas station, hopped out of the car and ran to a nearby creek, according to officials.

Police dogs tracked the man down and he was arrested.

Officers said the inside of the man’s vehicle had a strong marijuana smell and was likely the reason the man fled. The man, who has not been identified, will face felony evading arrest charges.
