Police Blotter: Two Men Shot in Oak Cliff

Fatal Shooting in Oak Cliff
Dallas police are investigating a southeast Oak Cliff shooting that killed one man and injured another early Thursday. It happened in the 5800 block of Trio Lane, in the Singing Hills neighborhood. Both men were robbed at gunpoint in Dallas according to the surviving victim. Police found his friend dead inside an SUV. Back-to-back major accidents kept Arlington police on their toes Wednesday night. The first accident happened at 10:30 p.m. in the 4700 block of Eden Rd. Then at approximately 1:00 a.m. Arlington police were called to westbound Interstate 30 under the Center Street Bridge to the scene of another crash. 45 minutes later Arlington police were called to a third accident involving a driver headed the wrong way on Interstate 20 near Green Oaks Blvd. A witness told officers he was driving westbound on I-20 when he saw an SUV coming toward him. DART Employee Charged With Aggravated Assault
A Dallas Area Rapid Transit employee was jailed on a charge of aggravated assault. He was accused of threatening a man with a gun near downtown Dallas. Warren Jones,66, was driving near the 1500 block of South Ervay Street, south of downtown, according to police records when he pulled up beside Herman Mays, 26. After the two men exchanged insults, Jones pointed a gun at the motorist, according to police documents. Jones denied pointing his shotgun at Mays.
