Police Blotter: Four Killed in Car Crash

Here's a list of recent activities drawing the attention of North Texas Law Enforcement. List compiled on July, 23, 2011.

Man Shot, Killed in Mansfield
Just after midnight Saturday morning, Mansfield police received a 911 call about a shooting on the 1500-block of Clover Hill Road. By the time EMS personnel arrived, the man had died. Three males at the location were detained by police for questioning.  The fatal shooting is under investigation.  The victim's name has not yet been released.

Four Killed in Wise County Crash
Four people are dead after an overnight car crash in Wise County.  The crash took place near the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 730 and County Road 2445 when an Ford F-350 and Ford Mustang collided at about 3:15 a.m.  According to police, the truck was southbound on FM730 when the driver of the Mustang, 17-year-old Danny Nalley, attempted to pass another vehicle and was driving north in the southbound lane.  Both drivers swirved to try to avoid the collision, but they still hit each other, according to police. Nalley was transported to John Peter Smith hospital in Fort Worth and is in serious condition. The driver of the truck, 30-year-old Richard Rand of Burleson, was treated and released from Wise County Regional Medical Center. The four other occupants of the Mustang were killed, of which two have been identified. Kevin Brickey, of Blue Mound, and Kevin Williams, of Connecticut, are both 19 and died in the crash.  The other two victims have not yet been identified.  Officials said they didn't have identification on them and the medical examiner will be using dental records to verify identification.

One Killed, Two Shot in Attempted Robbery
Just before midnight Saturday, Dallas police were dispatched to the 900-block of Loney. Upon arrival, they found three Latin males had been shot while at a residence.  One of the men was sitting at a picnic table in the front when he was approached by a black man who flashed a gun and demanded money.  The man tried to run and was shot in the leg.  The gunman then entered the home and was confronted by the other two men.  The man began firing his gun and struck one man in the arm and another in the head, killing him.  The man then left the scene.  The two surviving gunshot victims were transported to a local hospital where they were treated and released.  No arrests have been made.

Resident Shot Twice After Surprising Burglars in His Home
A man was shot Saturday afternoon when he returned home and found burglars inside his home.  Dallas police received the call just after 1:30 p.m. to the shooting on the 2100-block of Maryland where the resident was shot twice in the chest.  He was unable to give a description of his attacker to the police.  He was transported to Methodist Hospital and was expected to recover after surgery.
