Police Blotter: DPD Officer Arrested

Here's a list of recent activities drawing the attention of North Texas law enforcement. List compiled on Aug. 25, 2011.

DPD Officer Arrested
Dallas Police Officer Daniel Crouch was arrested for family violence assault and interfering with an emergency telephone call. His arrest stemmed from an incident that occurred on August 24. The department hasn’t elaborated on the details of the incident. Officer Crouch worked for the Dallas Police Department since September 2007. In addition to the criminal charges, an investigation will be conducted by the department's Internal Affairs Division. Crouch will be placed on administrative leave until the outcome of the investigation into his actions.

Man Fatally Shot In Home
Fort Worth police are investigating the shooting of a man found dead in his home on the city’s south side. Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of East Powell Avenue Thursday morning. They found a man in the kitchen with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Police haven’t yet identified the victim, suspects or a motive.

Woman Dead In Pool
Southlake authorities found a 65-year-old woman dead in a backyard swimming pool Wednesday, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's website. The victim, identified as Lois Mitchell, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was visiting a relative who lives in the 500 block of Fox Glen Rd.
