Police Blotter: 2-Alarm Fire at Trader's Village

Here's a list of recent activities drawing the attention of North Texas law enforcement. List compiled on Sept. 19, 2011.

2-Alarm Fire at Trader's Village
Crews are on the scene of a 2 alarm fire at Trader's Village in Grand Praire. There isn't any word yet on how many vendors are affected or what has caused the fire. Trader's Village is located at 2602 Mayfield Road.

SUV Slams Into IHOP
A sport utility vehicle crashed into an IHOP in Dallas Monday morning. It happened at an IHOP on the Central Expressway service road between Northwest Highway and Lovers Lane. Police said the driver of the SUV hit the gas instead of the brake. No one was hurt.

Man Charged in Child's Death
A man was charged in Parker County for killing his girlfriend’s child. Rodney Pettigrew was charged with capital murder in the death of 14-month-old Kamden Lee Bailey. Springtown police said the child suffered a skull fracture. Pettigrew told police Kamden fell about four feet from a counter while he was babysitting. Read more here.

Toy Grenade Stops DART Train
DART received a call from a person Monday morning claiming to have placed a device on board a light rail vehicle. DART's Morgan Lyons said a toy grenade was found on the train. Trains are now allowed to go to Victory Station. Read a full report here.

Pedestrian Hit in Rockwall
The Rockwall Police Department Traffic Division is investigating a pedestrian accident that happened just south of the intersection of North Goliad and Lakeshore Saturday. The victim, 77-year-old Radoslar Ciric was walking on the shoulder of the southbound lane of Goliad when a sport utility vehicle struck him. The driver, identified as Cary Tyson of Royse City, allegedly demonstrated signs of impairment at the scene, police said. Ciric was transported to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries. Cary Tyson was charged with Intoxication Manslaughter and booked into the Rockwall County Jail.

Three Burned in Fire Blamed on Lightning
Three people were burned in an apartment fire blamed on a lightning strike during thunderstorms late Sunday evening. Read a full report here
