Police Blotter: Man Sentenced For Impersonating Officer

Man Sentenced For Impersonating Officer
Sentenced to three years in prison for allegedly posing as a police officer, Brandon Cody Verran, 24, of Grapevine, was taken into custody Monday after he was sentenced in Criminal District Court No. 213. The charge was impersonating a public servant. His bail was set at $2,000 bail since his arrest just days before Christmas, according to the Star Telegram.

Purse Snatching at the West End
Two concertgoers were robbed in the West End after they got turned around on a Dallas Area Rapid Transit rail line. The women missed their train after Keith Urban's Sunday show at the American Airlines Center. Police said two men in a maroon sedan pulled up alongside them as they were walking toward the House of Blues to call a cab and grabbed their purses. Read the full report here.

21-year-old Killed in Motorcycle Crash
Joshua Davis, 21, was killed Sunday evening when he lost control of his 2004 red Yamaha, hit a curb and was thrown from his motorcycle, Fort Worth Police Sgt. Cynthia Blake told the Star-Telegram. Davis, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

4-Year-Old Dies in Fire
Authorities say a mobile home fire in North Texas has claimed the life of 4-year-old girl. Fire investigators in Commerce are seeking the cause of Monday night's blaze. Read the full report here.

Four Arrested In Shoplifting Ring
Police arrested four people Sunday suspected of running a massive shoplifting ring and reselling items at local flea markets.
