Plano Police Investigate 2-Year-Old's Death

Plano police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old girl who died three days after she was found unconscious at home.

Plano police said that just after 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 9 they were called to the 1500 block of J Place on a welfare concern.

At the home, police officers found a little girl unconscious. She was taken to Children's Medical Center in Dallas for treatment and three days later, on Jan. 12, she was pronounced legally dead.

The family says she is being kept on life support at the hospital so that her organs can be donated.

The Dallas County medical examiner's office identified the girl as Grace Ford and said she died at 12:22 p.m. Sunday,  just 10 days before her third birthday.

According to a fundraiser on YouCaring.com, "Grace's face was duct taped leaving her without oxygen."

Police said they are investigating the case as a homicide and are awaiting the results of an autopsy.

Child Protective Services is also investigating Ford's death.
