Plano Permits Pooches on Patios

Another Texas city has cleared the way for pooches to join their owners on restaurant patios.

The Plano City Council on Tuesday voted to amend its health code to allow dogs in outside seating areas. Plano City Council member Andre Davidson says it's a business decision.

Restaurants wishing to allow dogs on the property must seek a variance. The animals must be kept on leashes and are barred from going into restaurants.

Austin, Dallas and San Antonio have similar ordinances.
