Pedestrian Fatally Struck Crossing Street in Arlington

Police do not expect to file charges

A pedestrian was hit and killed while trying to cross a street in Arlington on Thursday night.

Police said the pedestrian was not in the crosswalk when he was hit on South Cooper Street at Lovers Lane. The man made it halfway across six-lane South Cooper Street when he stepped in front of a car, police said.

The driver and a witness stopped to help.

Police said they do not expect to file charges.
