Parents of Slain Fort Worth Child Drew State Scrutiny

State authorities say the parents of a baby found dead in a Fort Worth apartment had been previously investigated on claims of child abuse four times.

Two-year-old Anthony Segora died Saturday of blunt force trauma and his death was ruled a homicide. The boyfriend of the child's mother was baby-sitting and was arrested on an unrelated warrant.

State Child Protective Services have placed the child's 3-year-old brother and 4-year-old sister in foster care.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that CPS first investigated Anthony's biological parents in June 2010. Claims of medical and physical abuse prompted another investigation last year, but the case was unresolved because the parents could not be found.

Other investigations were conducted because of alleged drug use and following an incident of domestic violence involving the parents.
