Outdoor Burn Ban Lifted

Permit still required

The outdoor burn ban for all unincorporated areas of Dallas County has been lifted.

Outdoor fires have been banned since September in Dallas County due to dry and windy conditions.

In Aug. 2011, the Texas Forest Service said a record 248 counties upheld bans. The previous record was set in January 2006 when 221 Texas counties implemented outdoor burn bans.

In order to perform any outdoor burning, a permit from the Dallas Fire Marshal is required.
