One of Texas' 10 Most Wanted Captured

Texas Mexican Mafia member arrested in San Antonio

One of Texas' most wanted criminals was arrested Tuesday in San Antonio.

Felix Velasquez, Jr., was picked up in San Antonio on a warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon stemming from a fight and stabbing on South Padre Island over Spring Break and engaging in criminal activity.

He was arrested at about 4 p.m. by San Antonio police and DPS Criminal Investigations Division agents after he left a home that was under surveillance.

After the arrest, officers found six handguns (one stolen), one assault rifle, body armor and various amounts of heroin, cocaine and marijuana.

No tip was involved in finding Velasquez, so the $7,500 reward will not be paid in this case.

Velasquez is a member of the Texas Mexican Mafia, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.  Two other members of the gang were also arrested.
