Police are looking for the person they say hit and killed a 15-month-old boy in front of his family’s home Friday afternoon.
“Detectives think it may just be a tragic accident and whoever hit him may not even have realized it,” said Kevin Janse, with the Dallas Police Department.
Janse said the boy’s aunt and uncle left the boy outside to play in front of a mobile home in the 14700 block of Lasater Road. When they came back outside five minutes later, they found him lying in the street, bleeding.
He was rushed to Children's Medical Center in Dallas where he was pronounced dead.
Janse said detectives are still talking to family and neighbors. It is unclear what charges would be filed if the person driving the car who hit the unidentified boy is ever located. A Dallas PD offense report lists the charge as “injury to a child.”
