One Killed, Another Injured in Separate Dallas Shootings

Dallas police were kept busy overnight Saturday with two separate shootings, one of which was fatal.

The first shooting took place just after 2 a.m. at a 7-Eleven store along Polk Street.  Police said two men got into a verbal argument and someone pulled a gun.

Police said the armed man attempted to leave but was followed to the Landmark Apartments where he was shot in a breezeway.

The victim, later identified as 52-year-old Donnie Armstrong, was transported Methodist Medical Center in Dallas where he later died.

Earlier in the morning, at about 1:30 a.m., a shooting took place outside of a restaurant in Oak Cliff where three people were shot on the corner of Llewellyn Avenue and Sunset.

All three were transported to the hospital, though police didn't consider the injuries to be too severe.

The shooter is reported to have fled in a gray pickup truck.

No arrests have been made in either shooting.
