One Dead, One Injured in Dallas Shooting

Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another seriously injured in Dallas.

Dallas County medical examiners identified the deceased victim as 31-year-old Deon Bell. Police said that Bell died right away from his gunshot wounds.

Officers found the severely injured survivor laying in the front yard of a home on Wendelkin Street.

Paramedics rushed him to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas where he was admitted in serious condition. Investigators said he was shot in the arm and the chest.

Police said the victim was only able to give them a few details about the shooting. The victim did tell police that he and the other man were sitting in a car that was parked on Wendelkin Street. The victim said a unknown black male wearing black clothing approached the car with a handgun and demanded money from the two men.

The victim told police that while the pair were being robbed, the gunman opened fire and shot into their Chrysler car multiple times, fatally wounding the second man.

Police hope the injured victim will recover and be able to help them identify the gunman. Investigators are searching for the suspected shooter.

Dallas police said they plan to charge the shooter with capital murder and aggravated robbery.
