A 29-year-old man is dead after crashing his truck into a light pole in Fort Worth Monday morning.
The crash happened on the eastbound Frontage Road from Interstate 30 to University Drive at about 1 a.m.
Police said when they arrived, John Lerma was next to the wrecked truck. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
A passenger inside the vehicle was not seriously injured.
Police said the truck was moving at a high rate of speed when it missed a curve and jumped the median before hitting a large freeway light pole.
Investigators said speed was a factor and are investigating the possibility that other factors may have contributed to the crash.
