A chemical plant in Oklahoma caught fire after two explosions were reported at the facility late Wednesday night.
NBC News spoke to fire officials in Thomas, Okla., who said the Danlin facility that caught fire produced chemicals for the oil and gas industry.
Around 10 p.m. Wednesday night, authorities said two explosions rocked the facility and fire moved through the entire facility. The fire destroyed the building and some of the containers where the chemicals are mixed.
No employees were at the facility at the time and no one was injured. As a precaution, homes nearby were evacuated up to four miles north of the facility to keep people away from the smoke plume.
Officials said they do not know the cause of the fire or explosions. Fire investigators are waiting for daylight to help them assess the damage.
