The White House says President Barack Obama will attend a memorial service for victims of the West fertilizer plant explosion on Thursday.
The service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Baylor University's Ferrell Center in Waco. It is not yet known if the president plans to tour the damage in West.
NBC Nightly News tweeted the announcement Monday afternoon while The Associated Press said the first couple will visit West.

Obama was already scheduled to be in Texas this week. He'll headline a Democratic fundraiser in Dallas on Wednesday night and then attend a dedication ceremony for President George W. Bush's library on Thursday morning.
The president and his wife will leave North Texas on Thursday.
Obama was last in Dallas in October 2011 when he visited Eastfield College in Mesquite for a speech.
