OHP, NTSB Give Update on Okla. Bus Crash

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and officials with the National Traffic Safety Board will have an updated news conference Monday, regarding the traffic crash which killed four student athletes from North Central Texas Community College on Sept. 26, 2014.

The news conference can be seen in the video player at the top of this article.

The accident Friday night on Interstate 35 near Davis, Oklahoma, left a dozen other people on the softball team bus hurt. The players were returning from a scrimmage against Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma.

Investigators want to determine why the tractor-trailer rig went through a median without any signs of braking or trying to avoid the collision.

The driver, 53-year-old Russell Staley of Saginaw, Texas, told authorities that he was distracted by something in the cabin.
