North Texas Charity Organization Spreads Across The Nation

"Lemons To Aid" Spreads Smiles And Donations Nationwide

A charity that started on NBC5 Today has exploded into a nationwide phenomenon.

"Lemons to Aid" debuted on our "Tell Me Something Good" segment back in January. Melissa Plaskoff and her son Hudson started a lemonade stand to raise money for Haiti.

"It's really been amazing, everything that's happened since the Tell Me Something Good segment," Plaskoff said.

Since then, more than 60 "Lemons to Aid" events have been held nationwide raising thousands for different relief funds. Plaskoff said she thinks the idea has been so successful because it's something the whole family can get into.

"I think the good thing is to do something simple with your children and have a memorable fundraising experience, really makes it work," Plaskoff said.

On July 22, "Lemons to Aid" was even featured in USA Today. To learn more about the organization, click here.
