5 North Texas Cities Get Money to in Crime Fight

5 North Texas police departments have extra money to fight gangs.

The cities of Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Garland and Irving will each receive money from the State of Texas to fight transnational gangs.

Governor Perry says those gangs like the Mexican Mafia, Texas Syndicate, Barrio Azteca and MS-13 are involved in a wide variety of crimes including shootings, illegal drug trade, and vehicle theft.

Also, Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington and Garland will receive additional money to pay for police overtime in the crackdown on gangs.
