New Development Could Change Your View of Dallas Skyline

If you’ve ever enjoyed Sunday brunch at Smoke or sipped on a Greyhound at the Bar Belmont next door, then you know the great view of the Dallas skyline as seen from the intersection of Sylvan Avenue and Fort Worth Avenue.

Further up that hill, at the corner of Seale Street and Ormsby Street, is a tree covered, untouched, 4-acre plot of land that will soon be transformed into a $43,000,000 development featuring 318 apartments.

The City of Dallas’ Economic Development Committee will get a look at the attached proposal Monday morning, but the city has already agreed to contribute more than $4.5 million in Tax Increment Financing funds that will provide for streets, sewer and utility work.

City Council will vote on final approval for the project May 28.
