Nearly 2M Holiday Travelers Expected at D/FW Airport

The holiday travel season officially kicks off Friday, and airport officials in North Texas are preparing for an especially busy time.

Nearly two million passengers are expected to travel through Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport through Dec. 1.

That represents a 2.7-percent increase over last year during the same period.

On Thursday, D/FW Airport unveiled a series of new restaurants and shops that are now open in time for the holiday rush.

The airport is also offering a free new app to help passengers navigate the airport, and passengers are encouraged to use the hashtag #DFWfindjoy this travel season.
