Kristopher Love Guilty of Killing Dallas Dentist Kendra Hatcher in Murder-for-Hire Trial

Punishment phase of Love's trial to begin Monday

A Dallas County jury found 34-year-old Kristopher Love guilty of capital murder Thursday in the 2015 death of Dallas pediatric dentist Kendra Hatcher.

Prosecutors said Love was hired to kill Hatcher, who was shot and killed in the parking lot of her Dallas apartment building in September 2015. Prosecutors said the murder-for-hire plot was orchestrated by Brenda Delgado, the former girlfriend of the man Hatcher was dating at the time.

A Dallas County jury found Kristopher Love guilty of capital murder Thursday in the death of Dallas pediatric dentist Kendra Hatcher.

The sentencing phase of the trial is expected to begin Monday; Love faces either death or life in prison. Prosecutors said they would pursue the death penalty if Love was found guilty.

Jurors were handed the case Thursday morning and deliberated for just over two hours before delivering their guilty verdict.

Earlier in the day, prosecutors called their final witnesses and rested their case. Defense attorneys for Kristopher Love called no witnesses and Love did not testify in his capital murder trial.

Delgado is charged with capital murder and awaits trial. A third person, suspected getaway driver who testified against Delgado and Love earlier this week, is also being held on a capital murder charge though she is expected to serve only 35 years after agreeing to testify.
