Multiple Shootings in Fort Worth Are Gang Related, Police Say

Both shootings currently under investigation

Fort Worth police say two separate shootings that took place early Friday morning are gang related.

The first took place outside the Lone Star Nite Club in Sundance Square when a fight inside the bar spilled out onto Commerce Street just after 2 a.m.  At some point during the fight, one man pulled a gun and shot another man in the stomach.

The victim was taken to Harris Hospital in Fort Worth where he was to have surgery. He is expected to be OK.

Officers were called to the second shooting, near Northwest 24th Street and Roosevelt Avenue, at 2:38 a.m.  Upon arrival, officers found one person had been shot and a number of shell casings on the ground.

That person, whose name has not yet been released, was transported to an area hospital and is expected to be OK.

Investigators questioned several people from a nearby house.

So far no arrests have been made in connection with either shooting and investigators have not said if the shootings are connected.

NBC 5's Chris Van Horne and Keaton Fox contributed to this report.
