Motorcyclist Killed, Another Injured in Arlington Crash

Fatal crash under investigation

One motorcyclist is dead and another is injured after a crash in Arlington early Friday morning.

Investigators said a 19-year-old woman in a Jeep Wrangler was headed westbound along the 1700 block of Mansfield Webb Road when one of the motorcycles slammed into the back of her vehicle.

The second motorcycle rider veered off the road and hit a tree.

The rider who collided with the Jeep was killed at the scene while the rider who hit the tree was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Jeep was not hurt in the collision.

The names of those involved in the crash have not yet been released.

Investigators said the cause of the crash is still under investigation, though they suspect that alcohol and speed may have been a factor.
