A Houston woman faces probation after eight children were found unsupervised while she flew to Nigeria -- allegedly to meet a man.
A judge on Friday is expected to decide terms of probation for 34-year-old Shanell Monique Mosley, who was convicted of multiple counts of child abandonment.
She faces two to five years of probation.
Investigators found the children living in squalor, after Mosley's 15-year-old daughter crashed a vehicle in the family's garage in late December.
Mosley claimed her sister was supposed to care for the children, but the other woman never showed up.
Mosley was arrested in January while getting off a plane after returning to Houston.
Child Protective Services had taken custody of the youngsters, including a baby.
