A 36-year-old woman and her 3-month-old son were found dead in their home Thursday evening from apparent stab wounds, officials say.
The woman, identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner as Shanna Vandewege, was found on a bed with her son Diederik Vandewege at a home on the 8500 block of Cactus Flower Drive.
Fort Worth police said the woman's husband, whose identity has not been confirmed, called 911 after he returned home at about 9:30 p.m. and found his wife and child deceased.
Police said the man is cooperating in the investigation and that they have no named suspects in the case.
The medical examiner said Friday afternoon the child's cause of death was an "incised wound of neck." The mother's cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
The investigation into the deaths is ongoing and police have not confirmed if the woman's death was a homicide.
