More than 100 residents were forced out of a Coppell apartment complex because of flooding Sunday evening. [[305652711,C]]
Coppell Fire Department spokesman Steve Calvert said 116 residences at the Wellington Place of Coppell apartments are uninhabitable because of flood damage.
Some residents also have no power
"People are losing their furniture, their children’s beds, memories, pictures," resident Malissia Morgan said. "Everything."
The water started rising Sunday afternoon. Levels at the back end of the complex on the 200 block of South MacArthur Boulevard range from several inches to nearly four feet.
"It started just in the parking lot, but then the water crept up into the apartments," Morgan said. "It just took over, like the Swamp Thing or something."
Calvert said firefighters performed a water rescue via boat at the apartments. The woman they rescued had health problems and was taken to a nearby hospital. Her condition is not known.

The City of Coppell opened an emergency shelter at a recreation center to help those whose homes are flooded. Nearly 50 people ate there and seven people slept there Sunday night.
The American Red Cross is also assisting.
Coppell police stationed officers at the apartments for safety reasons. Officers told NBC 5 they've never seen flooding this bad.
