Mission Arlington Accepting Donations for School Supplies for 10,000 Kids

Millions of dollars will be spent statewide on back to school supplies this year. But, sadly, not everyone can afford the tools they need for the classroom.

Mission Arlington is partnering with a Christian radio station to gather school supplies for families in Arlington who can't otherwise afford them.

Despite all they've acquired so far, they still need more supplies since they hope to outfit up to 10,000 kids in Arlington.

Tillie Burgin, executive director of Mission Arlington, said the annual event makes a huge difference in the lives of the families who receive help.

"Our parents who come to the door, we take the school supplies to them. Just so thrilled, weeping over that, because no one wants their kids to go to school and not have what they need," said Burgin.

It's not too late to donate. Supplies can be dropped off at Mission Arlington, at 500 Abram Street, or donations can be made online.

Mission Arlington plans to distribute the school supplies next week.
