Missing Mom's Body Found Wrapped in Rug

A badly decomposed body found wrapped in a rug Tuesday has been identified as La-Trese Daniels, a Dallas mother who has been missing since May 30, investigators said.

Dallas-Fire rescue workers found her body inside a trailer hitched to a pickup truck parked on Killough Boulevard in southern Dallas County. They arrived at the location after receiving a call about an unconscious person.

The 20-year-old mother of two was last seen at her best friend's apartment on West Wheatland Road in Dallas. She had been dropped off at the apartment after a date, but when her friend woke up in the morning, Daniels was gone. The front door was wide open, and Daniels' purse and shoes were still in the living room.

Daniels died from gunshot wounds, police said. Police said they are investigating several different leads in the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call Dallas police at 214-671-3661.
