Mesquite Man Suspected of Sharing Child Porn on Neighbor's Wifi

A Mesquite man has been indicted on numerous charges, including transporting and shipping child porn.

According to his arrest affidavit, Jesus Paramo used his next-door neighbor's unsecured WIFI signal to access a file-sharing database.

Agents tracked down the IP address to a home on Point East Drive, where they did not find any illegal images.

Instead, they found that the resident's wireless router was not password protected.

They used tracing equipment to detect unauthorized WIFI users and subsequently used a device to follow the strength of one unauthorized user's signal.

That led authorities to Paramo's home directly next door.

According to court documents, federal agents found three files of child pornography on Paramo's computer.

Paramo's attorney told NBC 5 the file sharing program called Ares P2P often sent unsolicited files to his client, who would do away with them as soon as possible.

The attorney said Paramo will plead not guilty.
