Memorial Dedicated to Slain Saginaw Girl

A Tarrant County community made sure that a murdered young girl will never be forgotten.

On Saturday, an outdoor memorial dedicated to Alanna Gallagher was unveiled at Willow Creek Elementary School.

Teenagers found the 6-year-old girl's body wrapped in a tarp on a street about a mile from her home on July 1.

The memorial sits just outside the classroom where she attended kindergarten. It was designed by a former Saginaw police officer and built by volunteers from the Specialists Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club.

The memorial includes a feature that will cast a silhouette of a little girl chasing butterflies with a net when the sun passes over.

Tyler Holder, 17, is charged in the murder of Gallagher. He was wounded in an exchange of gunfire with police when a multi-agency task force served him with arrest and search warrants at his Saginaw home.
