Parents at three North Texas hospitals rang in the new year with a brand new bundle of joy.
At Medical City Dallas Hospital, Evan Saldana came into the world at 12:16 a.m. He is the third child of Andy and Gina Saldana of Sachse. The family attended church service to celebrate New Year's Eve. The hospital reports labor signs began right after the service.
At the same time, the Ortiz family delivered a baby boy at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth. Anthony was born at a healthy six pounds.
The first baby of 2012 at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center arrived at 5:54 a.m. Eli Baskett came into the world healthy at seven pounds, 13 ounces. His parents, Bee and Bryan, received a basket full of gifts, including a baby book provided by the hospital and the Mansfield ISD.
