Mayor Rawlings to Take LGBT ‘Statement of Support' to Executive Session

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings wants to take the LGBT "statement of support" to an executive search session before it goes to council for a vote.

According to a statement sent by Mayor Mike Rawlings’ spokesman, Sam Merten, the mayor, city manager A.C. Gonzalez and council member Jerry Allen have agreed to pull the item from the February 26 voting agenda. Instead, the full council will be briefed behind closed doors on Wednesday, much to the chagrin of LGBT Task Force members who expected a vote next week on the resolution that merely says Dallas will begin to address the inequalities in its pension plan, health-care plan and family leave policy.
