Many Lake Lewisville Parks, Ramps Closed for High Water

All of the recent rain is causing area lakes to overflow and Lake Lewisville has closed many parks and boats due to floodwaters.

Those who live and work around the lake said the flooding looks bad, but they've seen worse.

"When this lake gets real high, it will come across to this house across the street to the backside of it," Tony Snider, who works in Lake Dallas, said. "So this is not nothing yet."

Parks including Willow Park Grove, Hickory Creek, Westlake Creek and Oakland are closed due to high water as of Thursday morning. Boat ramps are closed at Doe Branch Park and Big Sandy Park.

The boat ramp in Highland Village's Pilot Knoll Park is also closed due to high water, per the city's Parks and Recreation Department.

"I am really not concerned right now," Snider added.
