Man to be Charged With Manslaughter for Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash

Dallas police say one man is dead and another man will be charged with manslaughter because of a multi-vehicle crash Thursday night.

At about 7 p.m., a 23-year-old man driving a Chevy Malibu ran a red light and hit a Ford SUV at the intersection of Mercer Drive and N. Buckner Boulevard, police say. The Ford SUV spun around and the Malibu hit the front of a motorcycle that was stopped at the red light. 

The driver of the motorcycle, Robert Meeks, 37, and a juvenile passenger were both thrown off the motorcycle as the Malibu continued and hit a Dodge Van, officials say. 

Meeks was taken to Baylor Hospital and pronounced dead, according to police. His passenger was taken to Children's Hospital and is in the ICU in critical condtion with several broken bones. 

The driver of the Malibu was taken to Baylor Hospital with internal injuries and will be charged with manslaughter, police say. A 21-year-old passenger of the Malibu is in critical condition. A 54-year-old woman driving the Ford SUV was taken to Baylor for possible internal injuries.

The names of the people involved in the crash besides the man who died have not yet been released.
